Below are some FAQ's about Clean Sweeping answered by Bhavna.
How does Clean Sweeping work?
Clean Sweeping is a safe, non-invasive treatment that uses a sterile blade held at a forty five degree angle. Working in small sections, skin is kept taut as the blade lightly "shaves" off dead skin, revealing the new glowing skin underneath. Since the esthetician is manually performing the facial, clients can see exactly the amount of dead skin cells that are being removed, as well as focus on areas of the face where there may be more build up of skin.
What does it feel like?
Clean Sweeping is a painless procedure that is overall very comfortable- a very light scrubbing sensation can be felt as the esthetician treats the skin in small areas at a time.
What are the benefits of Clean Sweeping?
-Promotes smoother skin and a clean canvas for makeup to be applied.
-Removes soft facial hair that traps dirt and oil
-Enhances other skincare treatments such as chemical peels and provides deeper product penetration
-Reduces recent acne scars
-Reduces fine lines
-Produces immediate results with zero downtime
Are there any risks?
There are no side effects and zero downtime associated with the Clean Sweeping facial. After the treatment, your skin will be highly sensitive to sun exposure and may look pink shortly after. We ask that you wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to reduce the risk of hyper pigmentation.
What skin types/conditions are ideal for Clean Sweeping?
All skin types may benefit from Clean Sweeping. It is especially effective on those with a dry or rough skin texture and helps to minimize superficial acne scarring or uneven skin tone. It is also beneficial for mature skin, which tends to have a buildup of dead cells as cellular turnover slows down with age. Clean Sweeping is safe for pregnant clients who cannot have chemical peels (peels penetrate the skin at a cellular level, thus are contraindicated.)
Who should avoid Clean Sweeping?
Clients with very oil or have active acne should avoid this procedure. Sebaceous glands excrete oil along the vellus hair. If the hair is removed, the oil may cause bacteria growth that can stimulate acne breakouts. Once a breakout has cleared, it is safe to perform the facial.
How often should the procedure be performed?
For best results, Clean Sweeping is usually performed every three to four weeks. Treating the skin in this manner removes about 21 days worth of dead skin cells. The skin needs to complete its normal rejuvenation cycle before the facial is performed again. With regular procedures, you'll notice a major transformation in the appearance and overall health of your skin.
If the hair on the face is removed, is it going to grow back darker or thicker?
No. This is physiologically impossible. Vellus or "peach fuzz" hair when cut or removed will grow back the same size, shape, texture, and color. Therefore, the main structure of the Vellus hair does not change nor is it altered during Clean Sweeping. Terminal hair however, is coarse. When this type of hair is cut or removed it will always grow back coarse.
How long does it take to achieve results?
Clean Sweeping instantly leaves the skin looking smooth, radiant and glowing. This is an ideal facial for a date or an event where you want to look your best immediately and don't want to wait days for results as compared to other facial treatments.
