We're so excited to introduce you to our first Junior Stylist, Darian! Originally from Christianburg, Virginia, Darian took an interest in cosmetology and hair at a young age. Fortunately, her enthusiasm for the craft was able to be nurtured during her teenage years, as she completed a cosmetology program that was offered at her high school.
Upon graduating, Darian attended Randolph College. Though she pursued a degree in Psychology, her love for cosmetology continued as she would perform styles on her hair, as well as her friends.
After college Darian moved to Raleigh, NC, where she knew she wanted to join the team of a busy and dynamic hair salon. Just two months into her time in North Carolina, she applied to Citrine and gained a position as an Assistant. Soon after starting, our team saw great potential in Darian, offering her the opportunity to become our very first Apprentice and Junior Stylist. Now, the rest is history!
So, we asked Darian what's the best part of working at Citrine and learning from our Master Stylists? "Their knowledge of so many different aspects of hair," she says, "and even though everyone is great at so many different things, it's been nice to see each stylist's special niche." She also says that everyone has been very helpful and welcoming. "They always make themselves available for any questions I have, even in the midst of their crazy schedules!"
Her favorite technique that she's learned thus far? "Balayage. Chhalin's balyage's are works of art!"
Though she's been a member of our team for nearly one year, we're excited to see Darian's progress and continued growth as a stylist. "I'm looking forward to becoming more creative and helping clients feel beautiful from the inside out."
